so many tickets, so little time

Here are the big tickets for this week. Got some progress made on <del>most</del> all of them today:

Eco Econ (including installing Solspace's tag module. need to clarify language for the reusable "sub modules" component)

Soc course conversion

Calendar Development

PD changes

Also tackled a few smaller tasks today:

Course conversion research (initial ICCIE tests look good - this may go pretty smoothly if we can add everything as packaged html items)

Phone tweaking, looked into forwarding possibilities

Processed ICCIE

CMS group started prioritizing items from the brainstorming sessions

Did I mention interviews?

Touched footprints ticket on reported MT4.01 Firefox/Mac issues. Still looking for a solid list of open MT bugs - hard to find stuff between MT's Pronet (which isn't even open, making it hard to point colleagues to anyway), Community Wiki, Forums, etc.

Processed IBM

Create and Download WebCT Course Backups

Over on the WebCT Gateway site, there is a new screencast available, on creating and downloading course backups in WebCT CE 4.1. As noted there, this is a visual representation of information that is available in the WebCT help files. For your convenience, the direct link to the .mov file is also available here.

I've also taken this opportunity to experiment a bit with google video. The Google Video version is fuzzier and smaller, but you can get a general idea of where things are from watching it.

I haven't posted here in a while, but I just came off this great screencast of the super-duper Firefox extension that is Firebug. If you haven't seen Firebug before, and you do any HTML/Javascript/CSS work, you should check it out. From the getfirebug.com website:

Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page.

Nifty! (found via Veerle)

Deleting students from your WebCT course

Here's a short clip describing how to remove students from your WebCT course. It shows how to remove student at a time, as well as a number of students at once.

Note that you should probably download a backup copy of the grade book (select download from the leftmost drop-down box) before doing this. Also, after deleting multiple students, you will want to select "show all students" from the drop-down box, so that you can once again see your current class.
